KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 – Former Honorary Secretary, Kamaruzaman Kedah is back in the fold with Tennis Association of Malaysia ( Tennis Malaysia) after incumbent Datuk Sayed Alfeizal Sayed Ahmad resigned from the post recently due to his busy and hectic business commitments. Sayed Alfeizal was on the job for only six months.
Kamaruzaman, who quit earlier due to personal and family commitments has been recalled by Tennis Malaysia President, Mirzan Tun Mahathir and the former has agreed to make a comeback.
Tennis Malaysia will also have a new honorary treasurer and he is Hang Kok Long from Penang.
Kok Long who is also an Exco member of the national tennis body, was unanimously elected to the post vacated by Nor Asri Mohd Norman after he accepted the nomination via a Zoom meeting. Nor Asri who held the post for two years, quit due to personal commitments as his reasons.
According to Johnson Koh, a vice-president of Tennis Malaysia, the appointment of the honorary secretary is the prerogative Tennis Malaysia President, Mirzan Tun Mahathir.
”The president recalled Kamaruzaman due to his vast experience in the job and is the right person to carry out the objectives of the national association,” said Johnson Koh who is also the President of Sabah Tennis.
Ón his return to Tennis Malaysia, Kamaruzaman said: “I am happy to be part of the national association again and continue with the objectives and the work that needs to be done.
”I am looking forward to working with the state associations to develop grass root tennis. We need their cooperation to make the national association tick and work well on the matter.”
Meanwhile Kok Long said his job as treasurer will be a heavy responsibilities.
”I will do my best to guard the finances of Tennis Malaysia and continue the good work already laid out by my predecessor.”
