KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 – It was a great away win for Terengganu as the Turtles buried Perak 2-0 at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh in the only Super League match on Sunday to maintain their winning streak.
Three wins out of three matches for the East Coast side saw Terenggganu keep pace at the top of the 12-team league with nine points with only a goal difference separating the team from defending champions Johor Darul Takzim.
The Southern Tigers have yet to concede a goal in their 2-0 wins over Kedah and Penang and 4-0 over UiTM FC while the Turtles beat UiTM FC 2-1, Selangor 3-1 before the win over Perak.
Former Pahang player Faisal Halim drove past a sea of legs for Terengganu’s opening goal on 24 minutes catching Perak’s former national keeper Hafizul Hakim Nizam Jothy.
At the other end Terengganu keeper Rahadiazli Rahalim was a stumbling block for Guilherme De Paul and company – leaving Perak a frustrated lot.
Ivory Coast’s Dechi Marcel sealed the match and full points with an injury-time goal – with a well-executed shot into the top left corner which stunned Hafizul.
