JOHOR BAHRU, Nov 23 – Well known businessman and trustee of the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ), Avinderjit Singh has been conferred the Dato Mulia Sultan Ibrahim Johor (DMIJ) which carries the title ”Dato” by His Majesty Sultan Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarum Sultan Iskandar.
The others to be conferred the Darjah Sultan Ibrahim Johor Yang Amat Mulia Disanjungi Pangkat Kedua title by Sultan Ibrahim in conjunction with his 62nd birthday on November 22 (Sunday) were Johor Health director, Dr. Aman Rabu, Iskandar Puteri mayor Salehuddin Hassan, and Major Cina David Wong Khoong Soon.
Avinderjit Singh, who is popularly known as Avin, is currently the acting president of the Johor Cricket Council (JCC) following the death of Dato Dr. Harjit Singh who passed away on Oct 19 due to complications following heart surgery at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur.
Avin is also the patron of the Johor Sikhs Sports Council and is currently in charge of the Johor Cricket Academy in Mutiara Rini.
He is also actively involved in several charity organizations in Johor closely linked to YSIJ.
