SPORTS ACTIVITIES IN SABAH BEGINS TODAY

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 July – It is all systems go for sports and recreational activities in Sabah from today following the green light from the state government.
Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, however, made it clear that all tournaments and competitions must strictly adhere to the strict SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) put in place by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council (NSC).
 Shafie said, contact sports like football, basketball, netball together with combat sports like karate, silat, taekwondo, wushu and judo will be allowed.
”The organising of local sports tournament and competitions without an audience for contact and non-contact sports are allowed under strict SOP in accordance by the Health Ministry and the National Security Council,” said Shafie.
