PELUANG NIAGA BERSAMA TISHAS LOW CARB SERENDAH RM50 KETIKA PKP 3.0

0

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Jun – Tanpa pengalaman berniaga, Shamsul Shah Sulaiman memilih menceburi dunia keusahawanan apabila kilang tempatnya mencari rezeki ditutup kira-kira 10 tahun lalu.

LOSING START FOR JDT IN AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 – After staying from the tournament last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim suffered a 1-0 defeat to Japan’s Nagoya Grampus in their opening Group G match of the AFC Champions League on Tuesday.
In the match played at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, the Johor outfit fell a 60th-minute goal by Hiroyuki Abe who made the best of the opportunity that came his way from an assist by Ryoga Yamasaki.
JDT hotly disputed the winner as the Southern Tigers claimed offside, but referee Mohammed Abdulla Hassan of the United Arab Emirates stood his ground. It turned out to be the winner of the Japanese club.
It was more heartbreak for JDT when their Brazilian hitman Bergson Da Silva was denied a goal in the dying minutes when he was deemed to have infringed a foul before he headed the ball into the net.
Still, JDT had a fair share of the game against Nagoya Grampus and was unlucky not to have shared the spoils with new find Arif Aiman Hanapi and Bergson muffing chances before the halftime break.
What was seen of JDT has given the Southern Tigers hope when they play local club Ratchaburi FC on Friday. Ratchaburi lost their opening match against Pohang Steelers 2-0.
Pohang Steelers next face Nagoya Grampers on Friday.

SARAWAK UNITED WANT THEIR MATCH AGAINST SELANGOR 2 POSTPONED

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 – Premier League leaders Sarawak United FC has officially written to the Malaysian Football League to postpone their postponed first-round match against Selangor 2 to a later date instead of June 30.
The first-round match which was earlier scheduled to be played on April 7 at the Selayang Stadium was postponed due to bad weather.
“We have officially written to the MFL for the match to be played at a later date. It is a crucial match for us,” said Sarawak United head coach, E. Elavarasan.
Elavarasan said it is not fair for the team to play the match on June 30 for several reasons, including the absence of national player Norshahrul Idlan Talaha who is still under quarantine after returning from Dubai on April 17.
Norshahrul was with the national team that played in the recent second-round matches of the Group G World Cup 2022/Asia Cup 2023 qualifiers in Dubai.
Coming back to the Premier League or even the Super League, it is a case of the rich and poor teams.
Those with a bigger budget were able to resume bubble training while others had to make do with training via zoom.
Sarawak United checked into a hotel in Shah Alam and only resumed their bubble training on Friday due to the tight SOPs under Movement Control Orders (MCO) for the Covid-19 pandemic.
During this period Elavarasan had to conduct training via zoom – which is grossly inadequate.
According to Elavarasan, Sarawak United has managed to get a school field which is near the hotel for their bubble training.
“I am glad that the players have shown zest and enthusiasm in their training. They are aware that it will be much tougher playing matches in the second round with some teams having beefed up their squads with new names,” said Elavarasan.
Sarawak United is perched on the top of the league with 23 points from 10 matches and have a match in hand over second-placed Negri Sembilan on 22 points.

JDT MALAYSIA’S HOPE IN THE ACL

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 – Malaysian football kingpins Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) are the untouchables in the M-League – having won 17 trophies including the AFC Cup in 2015 at the Asian level.
This, according to club owner Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is also the Crown Prince of Johor, is because his team plays games of high intensity, discipline and focus. This is also due to hunger for success.
Not surprisingly, half of the national team is made up of players from JDT but these players failed to display the same high intensity and discipline apart from not being focused on the game in the recent Group G qualifiers of the World Cup 2022/Asia Cup 2023 in Dubai.
JDT will be Malaysia’s hope in the AFC Champions League when the Southern Tigers compete against the giants from Japan Nagoya Grampus, Ratchaburi FC (Thailand) and Korea’s Pohang FC in Group G at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.
Interestingly, JDT’s new signing, naturalised Brazilian Guilherme de Paula, who was heavily criticised for his below par performance in Dubai in his first international assignment with Harimau Malaya colors, has been given the nod my coach Benjamin Mora.
The long-serving Mexican, has instead dropped Gonzalo Cabrera for the Bangkok meet.
The injured Shahrul Saad whose absence in Dubai was severely felt, is also out of the JDT team for the Champions League. Shahrul who moved from Perak, together with De Paula, is nursing a knee injury.
Mora, has instead, included defender Shane Lowry who comes in as the Asian quota. Also in the team to Bangkok is another new signing Nathaniel Shio Hong Wan.
The national players from JDT disembarked in Bangkok on the way back when the Harimau Malaya returned home on Thursday via a chartered flight.
Mora has also brought Bergson da Silva, Leandro Velazquez and Mauricio Nascimento – all of whom are the mainstay of the Southern Tigers, who are on track for their eighth successive Malaysian Super League title.
However, it is left to be seen if the Southern Tigers can do the same against in the Champions League.

LEAVE CHENG HOE ALONE

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 – The FA of Malaysia (FAM) needs to give serious thought to several factors before thinking of replacing national football chief coach Tan Cheng Hoe.
Under the circumstances, Cheng Hoe did a remarkable job in Dubai despite a personal tragedy when his beloved father Tan Chooi Siak, 95, passed away in Alor Setar due to old age.
It was just hours before Malaysia faced Vietnam on June 11 and Cheng Hoe decided to stay back with the team. That was a big sacrifice by Cheng Hoe.
His father was cremated on Tuesday, hours before Malaysia faced Thailand in their final second-round match.
That was another sacrifice by Cheng Hoe, who could only bid farewel to his late father with a prayer.
Harimau Malaya finally won in Dubai, defeating Thailand 1-0 with a penalty goal scored by substitute Safawi Rasid in the 52nd minute after he was felled by Ernesto Punya.
With the win Malaysia finished third in the group with 12 points from eight matches while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on top with 18 points and Veitnam second with 17 points. Thailand finished fourth with nine points and Indonesia at the bottom with only one point.
Although Malaysia failed to stay alive in the World Cup from the Group G qualifiers, Malaysia have made it to the third round in the Asia Cup.
It is the same Cheng Hoe who breathed new life into Malaysian football in the first round when the matches were played on a home and away format and was hailed as a hero.
He is still the hero. However, some quarters have other plans and it is nothing new in Malaysia.
Talks have emerged that the FAM will decide on Cheng Hoe’s fate as the national coach and this is simply not right.
Yes, the team needs some changes but it is the players as some of them did not perform up to expectations.
Rightly, the management of the national team needs a massive revamp. One wonders how many were “free loaders” with the team in the Middle East.
What was their role in the team? It is high time this is weeded out. It is common in Malaysia, known for its famous ”you scratch my back, I scratch your back” after the recent FAM Congress.
Here again, let’s not forget that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, time was against Cheng Hoe.
The national team was without a match for 18 months. The Harimau Malaya played two friendly matches in the Middle East and both were against higher ranked teams.
Malaysia lost 1-4 to Kuwait in Dubai and 2-0 to Bahrain in Manama. The rustiness was evident in both matches. Can Cheng Hoe be blamed for this when the authorities imposed tight SOPs for the pandemic that derailed his training plans for the team.
The gentleman Cheng Hoe is known for, is leaving his fate with the FAM.

MARKIS KIDO LEAVES BADMINTON WORLD MOURNING

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 – Gone too soon and the badminton world, especially in Asia is still coming to terms with the sudden demise of Indonesia’s Olympics and Asian Games gold medallist Markis Kido who died of a heart attack on Monday.
He was only 36 – born in Jakarta on August 11, 1984. Kido collapsed on the badminton court while playing the game in Tangerang on Monday.
Efforts to resuscitate him on court failed and he was rushed to hospital where he passed away.
Those who knew him and were close to him are devastated. His doubles partner Hendra Setiawan with whom he won the gold medal in the men’s doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics described him as the ”best partner.” Hendra has yet to come to terms with Kido’s death.
Another badminton personality who is reeling with Kido’s passing is newly elected BWF council member Bambang Roedyanto (Rudy), who is the All-Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI) international relations manager.
“I was one of the die-hard fan of Kido and Hendra. I followed them at some tournaments and got to know him (Kido) well, especially when I was part of PBSI. Kido was a very funny guy and very humble and more importantly respected by all.
“It was shocking news to all of us. Just could not believe he is gone. He will be dearly missed,” said Rudy from Tokyo where he is currently based as the deputy sports manager for badminton for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Badminton Asia’s Senior Events Manager Chooi Weng Sheng is still in shock after coming to know of Kido’s death.
It was ‘love at first sight’ when he first met Kido at the Asian Championships in Hyderabad in 2005.
”We hit off instantly and he became my favourite player. I first met him in Hyderabad and our friendship developed from there. He was humble, friendly and very approachable. He was also a jovial guy,” said Weng Sheng.
“No matter where a tournament was played, Kido was very popular with the crowd. On court he was a delight to watch and many admired his play. Even in ‘enemy’ territory he had his own fan base.”
One match which stands out is the 2008 Beijing Olympics when the Indonesian pair beat home favourites, Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng 12-21, 21-11, 21-16 in a thriller that put a dent in China’s pride. Still, they were not short of support in the stands.
Kido and Setiawan also won the 2010 Asian Games (Guangzhou) gold apart from winning the the World Championships in Kuala Lumpur in 2007.
A year earlier the pair won the World Cup in Yiyang Hunan, China.
The pair also ruled the SEA Games – winning the men’s doubles and team gold seven times.
They also featured in the Thomas Cup three times – in 2006, 2008 and 2010 and the Sudirman Cup in 2007 and 2009.

‘FATHER WAS AN INSPIRATION’ – CHENG HOE

0
KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 – Dubai will be remembered for the rest of his life by national football head coch Tan Cheng Hoe as it has undergone a complete change over the last four days.
The 53-year-old lost his father Tan Chooi Siak, 95, died of old age, just hours before Malaysia faced Vietnam on June 11. Cheng Hoe, however, stayed back to be with the team.
Also – hours before Malaysia face Thailand in their final Group G match of the World Cup 2022/Asia Cup 2023 qualifiers on Tuesday (12.45am on Wednesday, June 16) Chooi Siak’s funeral will take place in Alor Setar. The late Chooi Siak will be cremated.
Cheng Hoe, to a certain extent, is drained emotionally and mentally after losing his beloved father.
Grief is always there but he has been pulling through with his family’s support and blessings to remain with the team in Dubai as it is a ”national duty” – and he hopes his prayers will be answered when the Harimau Malaya play Thailand.
A win will ease Malaysia’s qualification to the Asia Cup Finals instead of going through a longer journey via playoffs.
Cheng Hoe will also have to plan his match strategies without three players – Mohamadou Sumareh, Syamer Kutty Abba and Corbin Ong.
The trio, who ply their football trade with Johor Darul Takzim (JDT), are serving a one-match suspension for yellow card offences.
”It is the toughest time for me. However, my family has given me the blessings to shoulder national duty and other responsibilities in Dubai. I am sure my late dad would have wanted me to do the same.
”I loved him very much. He meant a lot to me. There is vast emptiness in me and painful too. No words can describe and express my grief on what I am going through. Father was an inspiration to me,” said Cheng Hoe from Dubai with his voice choked with emotions.
With Malaysia yet to register a win in second round matches in Dubai, it has taken a toll on him.
However, he is putting up a brave front with hopes that the team could be able to repeat the success in the first-round match in Kuala Lumpur in 2019 when Malaysia won 2-1.
On who will replace the suspended trio, Cheng Hoe says he has several options and will only decide on the team hours before the match.
