INDONESIAN FOOTBALL LEGEND RICKY YACOBI DIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 – Former Indonesian football star, Ricky Yacobi is dead at the age of 57 from an apparent heart attack while playing the game with his friends at the Senayan Sports Complex in Jakarta on Saturday morning.
It is learned that the Medan-born Ricky collapsed suddenly on the field.
His friends extended first aid in a bid to revive him before rushing him to the Mintoharjo Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Ricky, nicknamed ”Indonesian Paul Breitner” for his scoring prowess played for the Indonesian national team and competed in the 1986 Asian Games in Seoul.
In the Indonesian League, he played for Arseto Solo and during his prime also played for Japanese club Matsusita FC in the Japanese League.
Indonesian Sports Ministry secretary, Gatot Dewa Broto confirmed Ricky’s passing.
