SANDAKAN TENNIS SEEKS LEASE EXTENSION

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 Aug – The Sandakan District Tennis Association yesterday met the new Sandakan Municipal Council President,  Wong Foo Tin at his office to submit the application for the lease extension of the SDTA clubhouse and tennis courts for another 25 years.
Foo Tin welcomed SDTA patron Johnson Koh, who is also Sabah Tennis Association President, and SDTA exco member, Simon Wong to brief him on the details of the application and the association’s main activities.
Johnson, who described Foo Tin as ”approachable and friendly” has given assurance that he will look into the matter and table it in the next meeting for further approval.
At the same time, Johnson said SDTA is looking for funds and sponsors for ”development programs and courts upgrading” and the lease extension is very crucial for these purposes.
Sabah is one of the most proactive states in tennis and has several up and coming players who are making a strong claim in the local and overseas tournaments.
